Township Officials of Illinois
Right of Way
The use of township road right of way is generally governed by the Illinois statutes, mainly in the Road and Bridges Act. In some instances federal law may apply. The general law of drainage can have a material bearing on what rights the road district and highway commissioner have over the right of way. This webinar will take up the legal issues that may arise when determining the extent to which highway commissioners can manage and control how public utilities and adjoining landowners use right of way.Expand summary
